You send your thesis at the agreed upon time.
I edit using track changes and comments.
I send the invoice for the rest of the editing.
You pay the rest of the invoice.
You receive an edited thesis!
My normal turn-around time for academic editing is 14 days from when I start. I am sometimes able to accommodate rush jobs which can be returned in 7 days for an extra 50% charge.
Please note that editing comes on a first-come, first-served basis. I am usually booked up a month in advance, so please reach out as soon as you think you'll need me, keeping in mind turn-around time working with your final due date!
Query letter critiques and partial manuscript critiques must be paid in advance to hold your spot.
Full manuscript editing and book formatting require a 50% deposit to hold your spot. The other 50% will be due prior to receiving your edited or formatted document.
Payment can be made through PayPal (with a 3.5% upcharge for PayPal charges), Zelle, or Venmo.
Copyediting: More comprehensive editing for content, readability, flow, organization, academic voice, word choice, design, and style; proofreading for spelling, spacing, verb agreement.
General formatting: Margins, pagination, headings, block quotes, tables, numerical lists, charts, references
Preparation of preliminary pages and appendix: Title page, signature page, acknowledgements, dedication, table of contents, list of tables/figures, abstract.
Formatting review: A quick scan after editing decisions are made to ensure correct set-up for submission.
Review after submission: Once notes are received from your faculty mentor, if the changes are minor, a free edit is included; if the changes are major, an additional fee may be needed. You are asked to leave comments from your faculty mentor and make any edits in track changes or in a different color font for ease of scanning for estimate.

Editing of chapters 1-3 generally costs between $1,250-$1,750 depending on editing needs.
Editing of chapters 4-5 generally cost between $800-$1000 depending on editing needs.

If a job needs to be terminated by me, you will pay up to the amount of work I've completed up to the date of termination. I will repay any overage based on when the termination happens. If you need to terminate a job, you'll pay me up to the work done when the termination happens.
Editing is subjective. I can't make an guarantee about the salability of your manuscript or your view of the usability of my feedback. I have been editing for over twenty years and approach each project with my knowledge and thoughtfulness, though, and hope you will find value in my work.
